Cara Fitzgerald is the founder and executive director of Senior Advocates of Southeast Idaho and the owner of Comfort Home Care, a locally owned home care agency serving seniors and veterans throughout Southeast Idaho. For more than a decade, she has dedicated her career to helping older adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes — while supporting the families who care for them.
For years she has chaired the Bingham County Board of Guardians, and the courts have appointed her guardian and conservator for vulnerable adults who have no one else to advocate for them. She has seen firsthand what too many seniors face: isolation, financial hardship, transportation barriers, and the quiet difficulty of asking for help.
After years of working beside seniors, veterans, caregivers, and families, Cara kept meeting people who were falling through the cracks. She founded Senior Advocates of Southeast Idaho — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — to bridge those gaps with emergency assistance, essential needs, access to community resources, and advocacy during difficult times.
Court-appointed guardian for those with no one else. Surviving spouse of a disabled U.S. Marine.
